In the first months of life, a foal needs many building blocks for healthy bone development. But it is extremely important that these are available in the correct ratio between them. Too much of one or too little of the other can lead to abnormalities such as OC(D). If the ratio is wrong, the absorption of necessary minerals can be disturbed. Pavo Podo®Care: minerals in the right proportion Pavo Podo®Care contains the minerals phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and vitamin D for support of the optimal growth of bone tissue. For a healthy bone structure extra phosphorus and magnesium are especially important. Calcium, which is often wrongly assumed to need extra of, is already in abundance in the mother's milk and roughage. The proportions of minerals in Pavo Podo®Care are precisely tailored to requirements, based on the latest scientific research. It contains no wheat, so is suitable for a gluten-free diet. From as young an age as possible, try to get the foal to eat Pavo Podo®Care. When they are three to six weeks old, foals usually make the first attempt to eat some solid food, often by snacking from the bowl with their mother. It is wise to teach them to eat independently from an early stage by offering them their own bowl separately from the mare.
